Pregnant women with HHC have limited access to pharmacotherapy: "Common symptoms of HHC are non-specific and include fatigue, malaise, bone pain and adrenal insufficiency. HHC impairs iron metabolism, which leads to the toxic accumulation of ferric and ferrous substances."
