The Nomination of Sarah P: An awesome satire

I've always been a fan of Robert Service and his ballads about Sam McGee. My father's rendition of "Fifty below in the ice and snow, when into the dim and the glare..." has stayed with me over the decades (despite the fact that the above line is slightly mis-remembered).

Service wrote these poems in and about the Yukon Territory, but they translate pretty well to Alaska. And now a chap called Gary Shapiro has cleverly satirized recent political events as The Nomination of Sarah P. adapted from the original Cremation of Sam McGee.

They opted for Sarah P.

There are $45 trillion of those esoteric instruments sloshing around the global financial system. They were invented as a hedge against debt defaults, but even the financial smart guys don't fully understand their impact or how to price their real value."
