Leeson - fine english gunmaker: "While Tanton seems little know, he does appear in various gun makers reference books/directories...Brown lists William Tanton in business c.1874 in Tenterden, Kent around 10 miles from Ashford. Perhaps, W. R. Leeson was in business for a short while with Tanton or indeed purchased his shop/business in Ashford."
