Yes Adobe Reader is Overdoing the Updates
Now at Adobe 9.4.1, just installed. But this is the second update since my previous November blog post, i.e. earlier this month.
And I'm not the only one who thinks this is a bit much. Check the last few posts on that page.

Does Adobe Reader 9 Keep Updating the Same Update?
I can recall at least half a dozen Adobe Reader 9 for Windows updates in the last 4 weeks (e.g. November 8 of 2010 back through October 8). But the last release documented at Adobe is October 5. Currently, as of today's update, I am at 9.4.0. Figured I would document it so that I can keep track.

Gates Sends Letter on Spam to Congress - InternetNews.com
This was the text that Microsoft "lifted" from the documents that ePrivacy had been sharing with the company as a vendor, starting in 2002:
See the Trusted Email Open Standard which is stored as a PDF here at the FTC and described here. The standard came out of several years of research and was formally presented to the FTC in April of 2003.
'We support the establishment of an independent trust authority or authorities around the globe that could spearhead industry best practices, and then serve as an ongoing resource for email certification and customer dispute resolution. In short, these authorities could provide mechanisms to identify legitimate email, making it easier for consumers and businesses to distinguish wanted mail from unwanted mail. Of course, any technology designed to establish the identity of legitimate commercial firms and associate them with a trusted sender 'seal' should be based on open standards and developed with broad input from affected industries.'Gates Sends Letter on Spam to Congress - May 21, 2003 - InternetNews.com.
